The Old City and the Shuk

I jogged back to and through Jerusalem's old city this morning before going to the Shuk market, or שוק מחנה יהודה‎. It's a traditional open market where you can buy everything and anything. I had to stock up on food since the entire city shuts down at sundown tonight for Yom Kippur. Public transportation doesn't even run, and Jewish law dictates that no one can work whatsoever. Tonight I'm invited to a "last supper" Shabbat meal with my Jewish friends (- have Jewish friends now!! PEOPLE LIKE ME) who will be fasting from sundown tonight to sundown tomorrow.

Pics from the Old City through Jaffa Gate and from the Shuk. Shabbat shalom!
