Olympus

So that whole scene where animated pre-teen Hercules climbs Mount Olympus to meet his real father, Zeus? Ludicrous. Albeit he's half-god, he scales that thing in less than 3 minutes. I spent 4 hours on Olympus today and never left the tree line. You win, Zeus.

The rest of the day I spent bussing to Thessaloniki, walking the boardwalk, visiting the White Tower, and shopping (this place be CHEAP yo). I'm now at the airport awaiting a 2:30 AM flight to Tel Aviv to take my first steps into the Middle East and Asia. My boarding pass says I get a hot meal on this flight, which seems odd as its THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. Here's hoping 1) I'm awake for it (free food, get in my pockets) 2) it's some smattering of legit pita and non-awkward hummus (airplane food is typically awkward adaptations of 'normal' food. Don't screw with hummus, Aegean Air).

Αντίο Greece! Kudos on the killer mountains and the myriad of things you dip into yogurt!

Until Jerusalem,
-M

Thank God for selfies! Me climbing Olympus this morning:

Not so much? Sigh:
